Ingredients
Cake:
- 1 box strawberry cake mix
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup (1 stick) butter, melted
- 1 cup sour cream
- ½ cup honey
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
- (Optional) 2–3 tbsp strawberry gelatin powder (for stronger flavor/color)
Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tbsp milk
- ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
1. Prep
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan
2. Mix the batter
- In a large bowl, combine:
- Add:
- Eggs
- Milk
- Melted butter
- Sour cream
- Honey
- Mix until smooth and well combined
- Fold in chopped strawberries
3. Bake
- Pour batter into prepared pan
- Bake for 35–45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean
4. Make glaze
- Mix powdered sugar + milk + vanilla until smooth
- Adjust thickness (more milk = thinner glaze)
5. Finish
- Let cake cool slightly
- Drizzle glaze over the top
- Optional: sprinkle extra strawberries on top
Tips
- For extra strawberry flavor, add a few mashed strawberries into the batter
- You can swap honey for maple syrup, but honey gives a richer taste
- Best served slightly warm or fully cooled
