Crispy Cheesy Fried Chicken Drumsticks
Ingredients:
6 chicken drumsticks
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup crushed cornflakes
2 eggs
0.5 cup milk
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
0.5 tsp black pepper
0.5 tsp salt
Vegetable oil for frying
Directions:
Step 1 In a large bowl combine the all purpose flour crushed cornflakes shredded cheddar cheese garlic powder paprika salt and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
Step 2 In a separate bowl whisk together the eggs and milk until the mixture becomes smooth.
Step 3
Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels to help the coating stick better.
Step 4 Dip each chicken drumstick into the egg and milk mixture ensuring it is completely coated.
Step 5 Roll the coated drumstick in the flour cornflake and cheese mixture pressing gently so the coating sticks evenly on all sides.
Step 6 Place the coated drumsticks on a plate and repeat the process with the remaining chicken.
Step 7 Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 8 Carefully place the coated drumsticks into the hot oil making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
Step 9 Fry the chicken for about 12 to 15 minutes turning occasionally until the coating becomes golden brown and the chicken is fully cooked inside.
Step 10 Remove the fried drumsticks from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain any excess oil.
Step 11 Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes before serving so the coating stays crispy.
