Quadruple amputee accused of fatally shooting man while driving

Dayton Webber, a 27-year-old quadruple amputee, has been arrested in Maryland on suspicion of murder after allegedly shooting a man.

Dayton Webber is accused of fatally shooting Bradrick Wells inside a car after an argument. According to authorities, Wells was a front-seat passenger in the vehicle Webber was driving at the time. Investigators with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office said the incident occurred around 10:25 p.m. on Sunday, according to Tyla.

 

Witnesses in the car told investigators that Webber and Wells began arguing in the car. Authorities allege that Webber then pulled out a firearm and shot Wells twice in the head.

Following the shooting, witnesses told authorities that Webber asked them to remove the body from the car. They refused and left the vehicle. Webber then allegedly drove away with Wells’ body still inside.

Police were later notified of a body found nearby Charlotte Hall. The body was identified as Wells, and a warrant was issued for Webber’s arrest.

“No evidence to suggest anyone else was involved in the shooting”

His car was later recovered in Charlottesville, Virginia, about 150 miles from where the body was found. Webber was located at a nearby hospital and was arrested as a fugitive upon being discharged.

Authorities said a possible motive has not yet been disclosed. Diane Richardson of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office said: “It’s early in the investigation, but there’s no evidence to suggest anyone else was involved in the shooting and that he acted alone.”

Webber’s background has also drawn attention. He became a quadruple amputee as a baby after barely surviving a severe bacterial infection. The amputations were performed when he was just 10 months old. Despite this, he later became the first quadruple amputee to play professionally in the American Cornhole Leage

It remains unclear how Webber allegedly managed to fire a gun while driving. However, a video posted on his YouTube account appears to show him loading and firing a weapon. Authorities said they are awaiting a search warrant to examine the vehicle involved.
