The doctor continued: “Don’t put too much strain on your heart with excess weight, exercise it regularly – it’s a muscle – it loves a little exercise.”

He also warned against "clogging" the heart with too much cholesterol.

However, he also had a clear warning for those who have fallen into a harmful habit: “Don’t smoke, your heart hates it.”

Furthermore, quitting smoking permanently increases physical well-being and reduces the risk of smoking-related diseases such as cancer, lung disease, heart disease and stroke – and can even improve mental health.

In a video, he talks about the importance of prioritizing relaxation to promote heart health and the importance of regularly taking breaks from everyday stress.

Dr. Hilary said, “Life can be quite stressful, can’t it?”

“Constant, relentless, exhausting – but too much stress is bad for our hearts.”

He suggests that his followers do the same by “making time for themselves in their calendars and relaxing a bit.”

The doctor concluded: “Your heart will thank you.”

In another statement, he explained that millions of people are walking around with high blood pressure "right now" and don't even know it.

While using a blood pressure monitor himself, he continued: "You're at risk of experiencing something you really don't want, like a stroke or heart attack, so get your blood pressure checked soon."
